Our Business Objective
Schweizer Agri Passionate Origination For SME's Growth
Schweizer Agriculture Ltd is an agriculture based agency which specializes in linking agriculture sciences with agriculture technology. Schweizer Agriculture has five (5) purpose vehicles through which it carries out its mandate, namely Inputs (hybrid seeds, macro and micro nutrient fertilizers, artificial insemination, soil management and crop protection agro chemicals, bees, etc.), agriculture mechanization, financial Inclusion and access to finance, access to markets and technical support through capacity building and technical assistance facilities.
As you are already aware, the agricultural economy is a significant part of the overall economy and currently employs about 67% of the workforce in the country. However, it is interesting to note that the agriculture sector generates a little under five (5) percent of national GDP and has even significantly dropped to a growth rate of 1.6% in 2021, which is down by about 0.3% from the projected forecast of 1.9% during the covid-19 epidemic according to Focus Economics.
